CodeWordPlay

CodeWordPlay

Made by Mike Suszek

You are a code breaker who stumbles across a device that spits out coins every time you solve a code. As your wealth grows, so do the questions: Who or where did this device come from? What happens if you keep playing, or worse yet, if you walk away from it all? You are the key to breaking the loop.

CodeWordPlay is a four (and now five!) letter word puzzle game exclusively for Playdate. Crack each code to earn coins, buy equipment, and unlock achievements. While you grow as an expert code solver, you’ll fly through puzzles and will have troubles putting your Playdate down.

It features 2 challenging timer-based modes as well as a relaxed, timer-free mode where you may play at your own pace.

CodeWordPlay features:

  • over 1300 levels
  • 10 unlockable pieces of gear
  • 10 achievements
  • existential dread
  • pick up and play gameplay

CodeWordPlay was developed by Mike Suszek, former video games writer for Joystiq, former licensing manager for Out of the Park Baseball and Franchise Hockey Manager and independent games and crowdfunding consultant.

  • While none of the puzzles in this game use profanity, there are very minimal pieces of dialogue in the later stages of the game’s story that feature moderate use of profanity.
  • This game uses the A and B buttons, and tiles are scrolled using the directional pad and crank (optionally). The crank scrolls through letters faster and therefore requires a moderate amount of precision.
