EmergencyCrank

EmergencyCrank

Made by Lucas Kundigraber

EmergencyCrank is the first Playdate idle game for lifesavers! Start with a tiny rescue station and crank your way up to a regional emergency campus.

Turn the Playdate crank to earn cash, hire staff, buy upgrades, and unlock ambulances, rescue drones, doctors, and helicopters. Dispatch calls bring quick minigames involving timing, memory, D-pad inputs, first-aid questions, crank control, and motion-controlled helicopter landings.

Your station keeps earning between missions, while the dispatch ticker delivers real, unusual, and funny callouts inspired by the developer’s time as a volunteer paramedic in Austria. Return each day to choose a free reinforcement for your crew.

Complete the station to unlock New Game+, choose a Prestige Focus, research permanent Command Academy bonuses, collect cosmetics, and chase achievements across multiple runs.

As you can see, there’s plenty to do, lifesaver.

  • The developer used generative AI to create game code.
  • This game is appropriate for everyone. EmergencyCrank has a lighthearted emergency rescue theme with no graphic violence, profanity, horror, sexual content, or mature themes. Players respond to fictional rescue dispatches through simple arcade-style minigames and idle progression. Some events involve mild time pressure and references to emergencies, but the presentation is playful, abstract, and non-realistic.
  • EmergencyCrank uses the A and B buttons, the D-pad, and the crank. Core progression is based on clockwise crank rotation, but an accessibility option allows players to hold A to generate income instead. The game includes short minigames that use button timing, D-pad sequences, and crank positioning. Optional settings can slow event timing and enable easier income progression.
