Gyrochord is a fully‑featured synth engine and drum machine for the Playdate, designed to be immediately musical for beginners while still capable for professionals.
Undock the crank to enter the main synthesis mode. Press A to play a sound and use the crank to set pitch. Use the d-pad for chord progressions, arpeggios, glide, and harmony. You can tilt the console for gyroscope‑powered vibrato and filter movement. Press up arrow or B (different menus!) to switch waves, ADSR (envelope), change scales/keys, and use digital effects such as bitcrusher, overdrive, filters, ring mod, and delay. Save and load your sounds and change individual volume with independent synth and drum volume controls.
Dock the crank to turn into a sequencer and drum machine. A starts and stops the sequencer, the D‑Pad triggers kick, snare, and toms, and the Drum Editor (press B) lets you adjust pattern length and drum parameters. (headphones or external speaker recommended)
This was made solely by me, Isaac Northington. Some AI was used in the backend/coding process since I am not fully capable with Lua. I do understand code and use multiple other languages regularly. AI was not used for anything else, including visuals, ideas, or sounds. Thank you for understanding.
