I wanted to evoke the feeling of scanning through analogue, long-wave radio way back before the internet existed.
You would scan through getting all sorts of random stations in different languages, particularly in continental Europe. Peedee ICF-390 only lets you scan through (internet) radio stations at random. It has 5 presets to save things you've found, no search or filtering.
Unique to Catalog, this version of the app includes a sleep timer.
