Looking for a shooter but put off by the insane skill required by the faster games? Space Mash could be for you, a wild bullet hell shmup that allows the player to slow the action right down at any time by undocking the crank and giving it half a turn.

Space Mash features traditional bullet hell essentials such as non-random levels that enable you to memorise enemy attacks, aimed and fixed-pattern bullets with bullet-herding game-play, points for bullet-grazing, enforced one-credit clear on all 10 levels, tap-dodging, single player shot mechanic to maximise the benefits of point-blank attacks, hidden bonuses and of course, end-of-level bosses with multiple attack patterns.

  • The d-pad moves the player's ship, A button fires a single shot and the B button (held down) fires repeatedly at maximum rate. The position of the crank sets the speed of the enemies and their bullets from normal (full speed) to 80% slow-down, if the crank is undocked and rotated 180 degrees.
