Some Regulatory Info

Warning: changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, the user is encouraged to try one or more of the following:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s).

Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
  2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

This equipment complies with FCC and ISED radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. End user must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. This transmitter must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

The portable device is designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by the Federal Communications Commission (USA) and ISED. These requirements set a SAR limit of 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during product certification for use when properly worn on the body.

  1. L’appareil ne doit pas produire de brouillage;

Finally, after all that, Panic hereby declares that the radio equipment PDU-01 is in compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU. The full text of the EU declaration of conformity is (hopefully) available at the following internet address: https://play.date/regulatory

Battery

CAUTION! There are some very important battery warnings here.

  • There’s a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Only ever replace the battery with the exact same type.
  • Disposing of a battery into fire, or hot oven (why…), or mechanically crushing or cutting the battery, can result in an explosion.
  • Leaving the battery in extremely high temperature environment, or subjected to low pressure air, can result in an explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

Please, in general, be kind and careful with Playdate’s battery.
